Bruiser in the snow

Description

Somewhere in Northern Eurasia, a solitary bruiser (genus Contusiosaurus) pauses with a chunk of its most recent kill in its mouth. Bruisers are one branch of the "woolly tyrannosaurs" that evolved in a parallel version of Earth during the Ice Age and survive to this day in much of Eurasia and North America. While the enormous sabre-tyrants get more attention from the media, bruisers are much more common and widespread.

Well this is the first bit of Spec-related stuff I've posted, mostly because I like this painting and it would be sad if no one else got to see it. It's not a very ambitious picture, but I was happy with how it turned out.

Spec, by the way, is the Speculative Dinosaur Project, of which I was a co-editor for a few years back in high school. If there are no objections, I might post some more Spec stuff.

this resembles like a polar-bear dwarf tyrannosaurid discovered this year, nanuqsaurus!
