Ermenwyr sketches

Description

Some sketches of...well not the main character, but certainly the person with the MOST character in Kage Baker's lovely novel _The Anvil of the World_ and associated short stories.
These are some sketches of lord Ermenwyr, youngest child of the Goddes of Goodness (deity of the Yendri forest people) and the Master of the Mountain (lord of demons). For a full account of this fellow, read the book.

I made these sketches a while ago before I had a scanner, in the midst of an email conversation with Kage Baker herself. I asked what the lordling looked like, expecting a typically un-illustraitable literary answer like "cynical" or "cute but ill-looking," but the estemed author gave me an extremely detailed an succinct description. Ermenwyr apparently, looks like "Ian Anderson as he appears
on the cover of the old Jethro Tull album, "Warchild"-- that or Jason Isaacs' interpretation of Captain Hook, in the most recent film of Peter Pan. Only, in both cases, rather younger."
Armed with this new knowlege, I did a google search and found myself confronting a Lord Ermenwyr with considerably more hair than I thought he would have.
Let me know what you think, a color head portrait is coming out soon.

What, are you surprised Ermenwyr looks...flambouyant?
Actually, I'm not sure I like this interpretation of the guy, myself. The hat and the hair are good, but...he just doesn't look like someone both capable of seducing heiresses and someone who is CONSTANTLY ill. The two don't go very well together. More thought is required.
