land-rower

The land-rower is an alien that evolved on a world where spine-less colonial worms conquered the land by building ever-more-complex shells around themselves. (see [link] number 6).
So the land-rower is "an" alien, it's a colony of aliens inside a mobile suit. This is a primitive suit, one of the first attempts to cross the land. It consists of a shell of glued-together wooden slats, with watertight chambers inside for the worms to live in. Wheels cut down on friction, while six oars are pulled by worms to propel the suit from one pond to another. Because the worms have discovered no transparent watertight material yet, the cockpit consists of a simple hole, out of which different worms poke their sensory heads. This model also comes with a pair of modified oars at the front that can be used for grasping prey or damaging another suit.

EDIT: Also! Please feel free to make your own mobile suits. The idea is that these aliens make suits by instinct, but they have the ability to recognize useful features and steal or reverse engineer them. Eventually, they evolve the ability to plan and design, then they develop communication. I'm interested in seeing suit designs from anyone and everyone.
